For those of us who would prefer not to be identified by our country of origin, it would be quite corking to design my own flag. I like that the flags are small and of a particular shape, and the idea of using them as a replacement for the ugly, over-animated avatars I see on other forums appeals to me as well.
A less-complicated alternative would be to offer a neutral flag if country of origin is declined, say a banner with Alice's crown on it, or a variety of generic flags with chess pieces on them.
I realize that the design decision for the flags is most likely to indicate geographic location as well as language, so my feelings won't be too hurt if the feature request gets shot down.

It is'n a bad idea. But i dont't know if its a politicaly correct.( exist in english that expresion ?) . And if that would possible, i'll wish to enlarge flags to nations without state ( Catalonia for example  How was Ucrania, Bosnia, Estonia,or Quebec ..... and a thousand examples more in the past and in the present.

...gee, i would post the protestant christian flag if one could post other than national flags..(then i could play everyone in the vatican
on an equal basis ( a joke -- don't nobody get
offended now )).
