In general, without any other compensating factors, two rooks plus pawns vs queen and pawns is better for the side with the rooks. As demonstrated in your game, the two rooks can gang up on any pawns away from the enemy king and the queen can't protect them on her own. OTOH, as also demonstrated in your game, the queen can cover a lot of squares and has lots of chances for perpetual check if the board is open.

The queen is very versitile who's roles vary from short-circuiting the defenses of the opponant to protecting many base pawns at a time + covering entry squares in your camp preventing check, letting the other pieces let you accumulate advantages, when the opponent has to accept either isolated doubled pawns near the king or losing a piece, getting the better endgame. It may be better to trade queens depending on your opening system and the pawn structure but don't trade queens unless it is of benefit to you, likewise decline queentrades that give the opponent an advantage, for example I traded queens in one of my tournament games so that he'd have to give up control of the important d-file by trading or moving his queen, I'm going to try to keep things closed in that game as I have the night pair but should be a draw.

It is against RHP site rules to seek advise on games in progress and one can be banned for doing this.

I think uri65 didnt understand the question.
Our friend did his choice (change the Queen for two rooks) and start a generic discussion, he dont want any tip in the game.
We are talking about Queen trade, not about any specifc game.

I did understand the question. It would be a generic discussion if a link to specific game was nor provided. And this is against correspondence chess rules.
I do appreciate that all the answers were rather general and didn't contain specific tips. However original question is not OK. If someone wants to refer to certain game he can do so after the game is over.
Would be interesting to hear what others think (Viper_SB especially).
