I know for sure I had already made my move, and his advise was more a general advise because when you have 2 rooks vs a queen you have to keep them together.

I understand uri65 point, its really better wait the game finish.
Then we will not have to spend time discussin the discussion. ;-)

I think it's usually dependent on position isn't it? I mean, if the position is closed, and there are no pieced to support the queen I'd happily trade my queen for two rooks. However, if there's more pieces on the board which can support the queen, I'd be inclined to keep the mobility of my queen. I guess it's dependent on the game
