I did it this way because I think it is more fair to allow both players to play with white and black. But I agree, it is probably boring to play two games with the same player. I will think about implementing a single round robin scheme, and maybe switching to the double round robin in the final round or when the number of players is under some limit.

The new tournaments are up, let me know what you think.

miguel, if the "master level" is for players with no rating limit, then, it's the same as "open tournament" which we already have.
let me assume...in case all the actual participants in "masters level" happen to be all rated 2000-below,then we might say it's not a master's tournamemt after all.
i suggest, "masters' level" be set at 2001-more.

the difference between open and master tournaments is that in the master tournament only rated players are allowed, new members can only sign up in the open tournament.
So you think that it is better to put lower limits on the tournaments as well? My thinking is that nobody will get into the master tournament if he/she is not up to it.

miguel... yes, IMO there shall always be lower limits in each tournament level. that's the reason why "open tournament" is being implemented to accomodate one without lower limit.
kindly monitor the registration for the "masters' level". if the early registrants are rated below 2000, you'll notice that no player permanently rated above 2000 would enter the same tournamemt. the reason is obvious.
