Sorry for being such a spoiler, but I think that we should acknowledge all sides of the man's life. Yes, Fischer was an outstanding chess player who contributed much to opening theory, but he was also a very disturbed and irresponsible man who embraced conspiracy theories and racist delusions.

If you want to sample his rambling thoughts OR you just happen to really hate Jews, here's his website:

After reading parts of Fischer`s Radio interviews from Baguio City, Philipinnes, and interviews before his, and during his detention in Japan, and statements he made in Reykjavik, Iceland, in which he comments on the "criminal jews", his "denial of the Holocoast", his comments on what happend on the "11th. of september 2001", and his "calling for President Bush`s death", I take back my earlier made comments.

Bobby Fischer died yesterday due to kidney failure, according to Einar Einarsson, chairman of a support group in Iceland; "He was not a man who wanted to seek medical attention. He didn`t believe in Western medicine"

Bobby was a true chess genius, but we shouldn't casually ignore a man's "clay feet". Fischer kind of reminds me of Alexander Alekhine.

Alekhine was probably the greatest chess player of the 1930's and 40's, but he also had a very dark side. Alekhine was an alcoholic, a womanizer, and may have had a dubious relationship with Hitler's Nazi regime.

I think he should be exposed for what he is. At one time in his life he was a great chess player. The major part of his life he was a schizophrenic.

I'm afraid what made him a great chessplayer wound up winning the endgame. Fisher gambit:denied!
