luongo_00001,
The topic title doesn`t mention "in Memorial", neither does RobertD`s first text.
For me Bobby Fisher was the best chessplayer ever.
I don`t believe in a God, but hope that Bobby`s mind comes to rest peacefully.

right...
but a mental illnes, for example, like Kurt Cobain had, is something different, something very sad, but innocent, then the paranoia of Fischer, saying such awfull things.
of course I heard people saying he was crazy before...but only after cdare brought it to my attention and I looked it up, and read all that stuff...
I am sorry, they can say, don`t talk bad about the death, but I can,t respect him anymore as a human-being....
as a chess champion/genious I do!

I do understand your feelings luongo. I believe nobody likes to see heroes falling from their pedestal.
I am not happy this side of Bobby Fisher`s personality came-up here, but we should not close our eyes and ears for it.

Why don`t you open a "In Memorial Robert James Fischer" topic.
I will be one of the first to add some nice words about his chess skills.

Ola Gil,
In fact I did not wish to continue talking about this issue. But reading your post, I feel the need to say a couple of words more.
Many persons might be in the supposition that Bobby Fischers hate against the United States dates from after his revanche match with Boris Spasski in the former Yugoslavian republic, which was by the way sactioned by the whole civilized world, not only the States. Also in my, and your country, The Netherlands and Brasil, you wouldn`t walk away free, doing business overthere.But please consider the following facts;
Robert J. Fischer, whose mother and probable biological father were both Jewish, made hostile comments towards the Jews already, at least the early 1960`s. What age did he have? Was he a alcoholic already at 16/20 years? I do not believe.
From 1980 onwards his hatred for Jews was already a major theme of his remarks, as well shown allergy against the USA. He denied the Holocaust....he exposed the Jews for animals they are....the murderers they are.....the USA is a farce controlled by dirty, hook-noosed, circumcised Jew bastards......
Same questions, 1980, age, alcohol?
After his 1992 match and being wanted in the States it only became even worse and an obsession.
But my questions are; Could one hate his mother that much?
What would have happened with Bobby Fisher if he had the power, the possiblity and the support Adolf Hitler had?

Maybe you, and others think I am supposing to much. Well, I don`t, I am just wondering, I am just questioning. In my opinion alcohol can not be the reason of his mental illness. He must have had a very dangerous kind already from his early childhood.
