I believe she also started out as a male prime minister, but was switched to a queen to make the Queen of England happy at the time. Of course, then they would have to make her stronger. :-D That could just be legend, though.

I always thought that while women are stuck with the menial tasks for maintaining the household, it's wonderful that men can just ignore all that mundane stuff and go play chess for hours! Now that my son is grown, even though I still have the mundane tasks, with this site, I have a great opportunity to increase my level of play. I feel sort of left behind and would like to dispell the notion that one can only become a good chess player in their youth. Next week I'll be sixty and I still have the ambition to be a very strong chess player even though my time is limited. I think chess is a game that in order to be good at, you must put in the time and women do not have that luxury because of being stuck with the menial tasks at home. Who else does the shopping, cleaning and laundry while holding a full time job?

Here in the Philippines, men do household chores too. Of course they won't admit it. :-(O) :-D
