Countless features on this site are 'a bit lacking'. The one you're concerned with is pretty good by comparison and so I wouldn't agree with your suggestion at all.
Given the current climate, I believe we should take the work involved for Miguel into consideration. This means being more thoughtful and economical with our requests. I wonder how many would give this particular one a high priority.

@Onceupon: I do grant that any suggestion done is open to criticism. And gladly so. But I fail to see any refutation, or good argument contra, in your input so far. I believe a turn order rule would be a relatively simple measure to offset my fairly minor beef with the think mode.

Since your own dissatisfaction with it is 'minor' then you should at least begin to see my 'argument'.
There are numerous more important features that could be worked on in the time put aside for site development. If you ponder that for a moment, you may actually agree this isn't one of them.

| If the competition board works with all the basic move rules, why can't the Think mode do so also? |
There is no technical reason, it's just simply that think mode isn't intended to observe the rules.

I agree with Fauquinelle, I can't see a reason why think mode shouldn't observe the rules of chess. Other javascript-based boards do, such as the admirable work of programmers Tobias Feigel and Lutz Tautenhahn that can be seen on: http://www.playchess960.com/chess960player/pgn.html. If you tick the "allow recording" box, you can move the pieces (legal moves only! it recognises pinned pieces and situations of check) and turn order and promotion are fully supported. It would be a 'major' improvement on this site as well, not a 'minor' one.

Such as? Not pronounced in a cocky tone, mind you, I'm just interested in finding out what other users think the site should improve on... for I can't find any other substantial weaknesses to QueenAlice.com.
