Yes, you do seem to react badly to constructive criticism and I can hardly be held responsible for that. But I respect your right to defend your own idea, even when you resort to irrelevant and unwarranted remarks in order to do so.

What best serves the site goes a little deeper than you seem to appreciate. If every single member supported a bad idea, that doesn't mean it ought to be implemented. And if no member was allowed to question the wisdom of a request, surely that would be harmful for the community. Now don't misread me again. I'm not saying yours is a bad idea, just not a particularly good one all things considered.

No change of heart. It should be quite clear that I'm not supporting the idea unconditionally.

...all our one-to-one communication needs are met...might I oppose what I see as needless modification? Yes.

I'm all in favour

Now please, give it a rest. You were of course entitled to voice your criticism, and you were certainly entitled to change your mind, but to continue posting argumentative comments as if everything i say - even when i'm plainly addressing somebody else - is a personal affront to you is, seriously, bordering on the sociopathic. I accept that it's partially my fault for rising to so many of your provocations, but at this point I doubt i'm the only person here that's tired of your attitude.

hi, its me again . aparently i'm ignorant. sorry onceupon, i'll be sure to spend lots of time scouring the internet, looking for other forums you may be involved in next time before i post any responses to your comments. i'm sure you're an advocate of many progressive movements and ideologies.
with your last comment, its very hard to understand what you are going on about. your sense of what makes an idea valid is quite fluffy. but what is disturbing is that you say if every member of the community supported the idea, it doesn't mean it should be implemented. ha! now thats a hard line to argue, unless you are actually a card carrying fascist. thats not intended as an insult, but if everyone supports it, it should, of course, be implemented, if possible.
anyway, an internet forum isn't always the best or most respectful way to sort things out, and this thread has become a bit of a feud. but lets stick to the point. if you think its a good idea, support it, and hopefully it will be implemented sometime. if not, don't support it! and don't bother posting on the forum! if you think its a really bad idea, and will destroy queenalice.com, then post offering an explanation why. if you have no real solid opinion, then i can't understand why you would keep hashing it out.

The only caveat i would add to those sentiments is that there is a factor beyond how many people support a proposed modification to the site: what is possible and/or preferential for the site's moderator, who we can safely assume is working with limited time and resources... actually i think this point is implied in regicide13's "if possible", now i read the comment again.

...and you were certainly entitled to change your mind...

Nice try ;-)

But you're not going to fool any sensible person by quoting me out of context. I suppose we can now add dirty tricks to your repertoire of devices.

I decided to support the idea of combining two modifications simply in order to get the one I wanted. Although I haven't changed my mind about the original request, it puzzles me why you aren't happy about my conditional support. If it works, we both win.
