Manuel, As you said I was lucky to know all those dances because those dances came from the latin (Spanish). We were dancing those dances more than 50 years ago and the Filipinos are still dancing those dances up to this time. I'm here in New York but most Filipinos are dancing those dances here in USA.
As razoman was telling you about the names of the pieces of chess, they are in spanish words.
Do you know that the Philippines was discovered by a Portuguse Name Ferdinand Magellan on March 16, 1521. The spaniards spread the Christianity in the Philippines. The Filipino people are 90% catholic. Our first and last names are spanish names. We have also spanish blood.
