"NEWS!!! 19th December 2007:

"According to news today here in Iceland the Foreign Ministry received a letter from the DHS, where they regret the treatment Erla got, admit it was out of proportion, and that they will review their processes in the light of this incident. We can also thank, Mrs. Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, FM of Iceland, and the U.S. Ambassador in Iceland, Mrs.Carol van Voorst, who is a great representative for her nation. Hopefully these three women have started something, that will improve the situation for all of us...

It was also mentioned in the news, that several American laywers have contacted Erla encouraging her and offered their help to sue the US government..."

Moondawg, it's pretty dangerous to say "we all know", followed by something over which there is great controversy. There are some of the old pro-communist anti-Vietnam people around that protest our being in Iraq; I'm not among them. We were right to be in Nam (in defense of our ally, South Vietnam, who had been invaded by their enemy North Vietnam, with the USSR's help), and we're right to be in Iraq. If it's all about oil and not human rights, why have we wasted the billions you mention without taking their oil for ourselves? Why bother trying to get them a stable, democratic government? Blaming the region's instability on the USA is just plain silly, and the radicals don't need any more reason to be radicals; they'll just keep murdering people in any case. Hussein used WMDs on his own people and controlled the military; how in the world would anyone think the Iraq people (or ANYONE in that situation) could possibly defend themselves against him without outside help? Pershemia - that is not a criticism of the people of Iraq. Again, I say that ANYONE in that situation would need outside help. We provided it, and most of the people of Iraq are glad about it.

Bush is a good president, though far from perfect; the worst in my lifetime have been Carter and Clinton, with the best definitely being Reagan.

I say none of this in anger; I apologize if my prior message seemed to be. Email and forum postings do not always reflect emotion correctly.

I wish a blessed Christmas for those who celebrate it, and a happy and healthy 2008 to all here at Alice.

You never stop tewald - as a good fascist you defence your crime under the Vietnam war. Now we are waiting for a tribunal against high people in the administration for crime against the people in Iraq - but this never can be a reality in a world with dictatorship from your country. Your contry have done enough to punish some people for war crime.

Capmo, thanks for the link, but...

I was trying to find any kind of "official" sites, big media or any of both governments, not blogs.

For now, the only american media that shows the history, that I know, is:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22263392/

See you,
Beco.

PS.: BTW, from your link, the blog comments are really sad.
