i would! :-) but, seeing as in-game messages are typed when one is making a move (and in that tiny little window), i would think people would naturally save longer missives for PMs.

Hey, having read all the above, how does this compromise sound:

-Raise the limit to what will fit in the little area to the upper right. (I'm not sure if said area has a 'scroll' function yet.)

-If possible, move the other stuff on the right down a little to accomodate for, say 300 chars.

-And if that ain't enough, you can in-game message your opponent about there being a PM waiting, which they might want to read before making their next move.

Well that settles it then... end of story.

Wrong. It's up to an individual to put his or her points across for or against an idea. I can't conclude the discussion, only take part in it.

I don't fully understand the resistance to doing away with the message limit.

Having the space to write more to one's opponent during the course of a game would be welcome.

My argument is that there are several other features and changes which would be welcomed by a greater number of members and that it would be prudent to consider those whilst thinking about the time and effort which might be spent on any one of them.

All I'm asserting is that this one isn't necessary, where some perhaps are.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I think newblockader was being sarcastic, mate. Just a hunch. Believe it or not, we're all very comfortable with the reality that you don't make all the decisions and cannot conclude the discussion.

Hey! I think that it would be so good if you could write more on the chat message. You can hardly say anything in a message before it runs out and its way nicer to chat over the chess board than to always have to go and send someone a private message seperate to sending your move. I'm with you xSmashOrBeSmashedx!
